CSIO Barcelona pays tribute to Paco Goyoaga

Coinciding with the dates on which the 109th CSIO Barcelona (canceled due to COVID-19) would have been held, the International Jumping Competition of Barcelona wants to pay well-deserved tribute to Paco Goyoaga 100 years since his birth.

Starting today, equestrian fans can enjoy an online photo exhibition and video that brings together some of the most emotional moments in the career and family life of one of the biggest names in international equestrianism.

The only Spanish rider to win gold at the Jumping Championships and eleven-time winner of the Barcelona Cup, participated in over 3,000 events throughout his intense sports career with 750 first-place qualifications.

For Emilio Zegrí, president Real Club de Polo de Barcelona Foundation, “Francisco Goyoaga, the most successful Spanish rider in history, understood horses more than anyone. He was a rider with unique qualities. It is an honor for us to be able to offer this memory of one of the great equestrian icons.”
