Olivier Philippaerts won the Trofeo La Vanguardia, the second event of the day at the CSIO Barcelona. The Belgian rider, riding Cap du Marais, was the fastest to complete the course with no penalties, with a time of 68.68 seconds. Only six hundredths of a second ahead finished Álex Codina. The Barcelona rider, with Cruising Star, achieved a spectacular second place. The podium was completed by the Belgian Gilles Thomas (Feromas Van Beek Z) with 69.18 seconds.
