Top riders at CSIO Barcelona 2023

Two weeks before the start of the CSIO Barcelona, organizer the Longines FEI Jumping Nations CupTM G Final for the tenth consecutive year, the teams that will compete at the Olympic facilities of the RCPB are being confirmed. Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the USA, Uzbekistan, and Spain as the host country will try to wrest the title from Belgium, the current champion. Riders of the caliber of Swiss Steve Guerdat (world ranking number 3), who has just won the European Championship, the German Philipp Weisshaupt, or the Frenchman Julien Epaillard, silver and bronze medalists in the same European competition, will be arriving in Barcelona. The teams from the United States, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Belgium also impose themselves with their best representatives. The Spanish team will arrive with Eduardo Álvarez Aznar, Carolina Aresu, Alberto Márquez Galobardes, Mariano Martínez Bastida, and Santiago Núñez Riva, while at the individual level, the Swedish Henrik von Eckerman, currently ranked number 1 in the world, stands out.

Another major attraction of CSIO Barcelona will be the last Olympic spot for Paris 2024 that will be up for grabs during the event. The highest-ranked team in the Nations Cup final that has not yet secured their spot in advance will have the opportunity to participate in the upcoming Olympic Games. Six nations aspire to this: Brazil, Argentina, Uzbekistan, the United States, Italy, and Mexico.

During CSIO Barcelona, a total of ten competitions will take place, including three corresponding to the Nations Cup, the first qualifying round, the Longines Challenge Cup, and the highly anticipated final on Sunday, October 1, starting at 3:00 PM. The traditional Copa de SM la Reina - Trofeo Segura Viudas, one of the most emblematic events of the CSIO Barcelona sports program, will also return. This year, the Copa Ciudad de Barcelona will once again be a highlight on Friday night, coinciding with one of the traditional gala dinners. The stands of our venue will host approximately six hundred diners daily who will enjoy the sports spectacle on the field while savoring the delicious dishes from our restaurant.

In addition to the sporting spectacle, CSIO Barcelona will offer two musical concerts for the event's 40,000 followers on the nights of Friday, September 29, and Saturday, September 30, once the gala dinner concludes.

PoloPark

In line with the festive atmosphere that CSIO Barcelona brings to our city, the Club will once again provide 20,000 m2 of its field for PoloPark. This green space, the largest in Barcelona, is dedicated to family entertainment with a wide range of activities, including a complete Foodie Fest where you can find international cuisine, a large market with event merchandise, the Brand Village, and the Kids Park for the youngest with its traditional Pony Park, among other areas. In this edition, the sports spectacle will also be accompanied by small-format shows featuring the natural tamer Inti Schenkel, the national vaulting team, the current Spanish champions, and, once again, the Mounted Urban Guard of Barcelona. Additionally, the evenings at PoloPark will be enhanced by musical concerts by emerging bands.
