In a significant step towards the promotion and development of grassroots equestrianism, as well as the training and improvement of professionals in the equestrian sector in Catalonia, the Real Club de Polo Foundation (RCPB) and the Catalan Equestrian Federation (FCH) have established a strategic agreement under the auspices of CSIO Barcelona. This agreement formalizes the creation of the CSIO Barcelona Academy, an initiative aimed at integrating and enhancing all activities related to the equestrian field within the framework of the prestigious CSIO Barcelona event.
The agreement, signed this morning at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona by Raimón Miret Cots, FCH president, and Luis Comas Martínez de Tejada, RCPB Foundation president, will be implemented in the coming months. It includes a series of short-term actions aimed at boosting both competition and training in the equestrian sector. One of the most notable actions is the participation, support, and promotion of the Catalan Show Jumping Leagues, for both horses and ponies, by the CSIO Barcelona Academy. These leagues, which take place throughout Catalonia, including the provinces of Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona, aim to support young talents and equestrian enthusiasts in Catalonia.
Additionally, the RCPB will provide its facilities for show jumping clinics promoted by the CSIO Barcelona Academy in collaboration with the FCH. These training events, scheduled between October 2024 and March 2025, are intended for the top riders from the leagues, as well as a select group of professional or semi-professional riders from Catalonia. The opportunity to learn from renowned international trainers and riders is one of the main advantages of these clinics.
Furthermore, the CSIO Barcelona Academy will organize seminars aimed at a wide range of professionals in the equestrian sector, such as instructors, technicians, judges, veterinarians, and farriers. These seminars seek to promote knowledge and best practices, offering specialized training that contributes to the development and professionalization of the sector.
The agreement not only underscores the commitment to the advancement of equestrianism in Catalonia but also establishes the CSIO Barcelona Academy as a fundamental pillar for the future of this sport in the region, promoting excellence in competition, training, and animal welfare.
