The opening day of the CSIO Barcelona ended with the victory of the RC Polo rider Álvaro Zambrano, riding Tikal Dk, in the Royal Bliss Trophy. Second classified was Martí Torreguitart, with Crackham Jo, and third, the Portuguese Diogo Portela (Divalentino C).
